Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams rates Ghana league very high

Asante Kotoko guardsman, Ahmed Adams has rubbished claims that the Ghana Premier League is a mediocre league.

The local top-flight championship have come under severe criticism as critics believe that the quality of football being exhibited by the footballers is nothing to write home about.

Others have also stated that the league has lost its credibility following massive player exodus each and every season in order to earn better salaries than what they have been earning in Ghana.

But Ahmed Adams who was voted the Ghana Premier League Best Player  at the Sports Fans Awards last Saturday organized by Accra-based media outfit Happy FM said irrespective of the problems facing the domestic championship the Ghana league is the best.

“Some people are saying the league is collapsing but for me the Ghana league is the best,” he said.

"This is what we have. We need massive improvement. We can call for improvement but to say the league has collapsed is something I will never agree. We have one of the best leagues in Africa," he added.

Ahmed Adams last season appeared 26 times, registering a goal for Kotoko as well as winning the Player of the Month of July at the club.
