Asante Kotoko midfield maestro Kwame Bonsu earns maiden Black Stars call up

Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwame Bonsu has earned his first ever call to a national team in Ghana after he was named in coach Kwesi Appiah 24 man squad for the AFCON qualifier against Kenya on March 23rd. 

The midfielder, who has been the spine of Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup impressed Black Stars Kwesi Appiah with some outstanding performances in the competition.

The "ex convict' returned to Ghana after serving 13 months of a two year jail term to relaunch a career that was almost dead.

Bonsu has been an inspiration and seeks to use this opportunity to break into the gaffers team for AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

The 24-year old has has been involved in six games in the Confederation Cup and scored in the 2-1 win over Zesco United.

The Black Stars are seeking revenge over the Harambee Stars after they defeated the side 1-0 in the first match of the group qualifiers in Nairobi last year.

The Ghana players will be seeking to silence Kenya and finish top of the group of the qualifiers ahead of the tournament to be played in Egypt in June.

The former IF Gefle player is joined by teammates Amos Frimpong and goalkeeper Felix Annan.
