Asante Kotoko SC could withdraw their interest in signing attacking midfielder Seth Osei who is currently facing match fixing charges by the Ghana FA.

The AshantiGold star has been charged for violating Article 34(5)(a) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations in respect of the match between the Miners and Inter Allies FC last season.

Osei has expressed his interest in joining Kotoko after the club wrote to AshantiGold to enquire about his availability over a possible transfer ahead of new season.

The Obuasi based club have placed a price of US$80,000 on the playmaker.

The Porcupine Warriors could end their pursuit for the highly-rated player following the latest developments as they don't want to be associated with any scandal.

The 22-year-old had an impressive outing with the Miners in the Ghana Premier League since he joined them last March from Eleven Wonders FC.

Osei scored 4 goals and provided three assists in 18 appearances where he won about three man of the match awards across that period.

He also played a crucial role AshantiGold's campaign in the FA Cup having reached the final of the competition.
