Ex-Ghana coach Mariano Barreto is the frontrunner to be named Asante Kotoko head coach, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

The 64-year-old is currently unattached after leaving Lithuanian side Stumbras in 2018.

According to reports, Barreto will come along with his own assistant coach and physical trainer.

Kotoko have been without a substantive since Maxwell Konadu was sacked in December, 2020.
