The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will honour the Ghana Football Association President for bringing honour to the country through his election as Executive Committee Member of Continental football governing body, Caf.

Kwesi Nyantakyi beat off opposition from Anjorin Moucharaf, president of the Beninois FA to secure the seat.

Despite the public endorsement of Moucharaf by Caf President Issa Hayatou, the GFA President won overwhelmingly.

A statement issued in Accra by the Ghana Sports Advocates Coalition (GSAC) said Mr. Nyantakyi will be honoured at the Manhyia Palace at 12pm Wednesday 16 March 2011.

After the ceremony, the new Caf Executive Committee member will interact with students and lecturers of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology - Independence Hall at 4pm.

The interaction will centre on football administration in Ghana, the challenges and the way forward.

According to the statement, the entire GFA Executive Committee Members will address journalists at 7pm.
