Ghana defender Nana Asare will not play for his Dutch side FC Utrecht as they face Napoli on Thursday after his passport was stolen.

The right back could not travel with the team to the Italian city of Napoli for the game because of the passport setback.

Asare's passport is believed to have been stolen this after he lost his bag in the Dutch town of Utrecht.

So he could not travel with the team as they prepared for the game in Europe's other club competition.

The Ghana embassy in Holland is expected to issue him with a new passport which will enable him to acquire a new Dutch work permit.

His absence is a blow for the Dutch club as he has been a key player for Utrecht over the past two seasons.
