Ashantigold captain Dauda calls for fans’ patience

Ashantigold captain Fatawu Dauda has appealed to the fans to show patience while the side finds form.

The miners’, who face New Edubiase at Bekwai on Saturday, have not won their last three matches and are out of the top-four.

The players were booed off the pitch at the Len Clay stadium last Sunday as they slumped to a disappointing 1-1 draw against Tema Youth.

Although there have been occasional brilliance in Ashantigold’s game since dismissed assistant coach Kama Dini took temporal charge of the club, they have flattered to deceive.

The side doesn’t paint a convincing picture of a side determined to wrestle the Premier League crown from Asante Kotoko.

“It’s about winning and if you don’t win, you’re going to get stick and the fans have shown their frustration, which is understandable,” Dauda said

“They have supported us all this while and I will just urge them to be patient with us.

“I know it’s hard but if they stick by us they’ll see there’s no lack of effort.”

Dauda was on Tuesday appointed the new skipper of the side, taken the armband from Daniel Asamoah.
