AshantiGold moved to second on the Ghana Premier League table with a 1-0 home win over Wa All Stars on Sunday.
The Miners sealed the three points courtesy Francis Adjei who blasted in a half volley from inside the box on 32 minutes.
Adjei, playing his first season in the Ghana Premier League, registered his second goal of the season-his first was against Liberty Professionals at the same venue last week.
All Stars coach Nuru Ahmed's decision to play with Sadiq Adams as the lone man up front was overpowered by the attacking formation employed by his target.
Adams, however, was the first to make the first attempt at goal when he shot from distance but his effort was always rising.
AshGold's centre-back pair of Lawrence Lartey and Nafiu Awudu were comfortable and did well to keep the few attacks at bay.
Winger Bernard Morrison could have doubled AshGold's lead particularly in the first half but he lacked the cutting edge.
AshantiGold are among the five unbeaten sides after three rounds of matches.
