AshantiGold SC have parted ways with head coach Ernest Thompson Quartey after just three games into the season, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The decision comes following a 2-0 defeat to King Faisal Babes in the regional derby on Sunday at the Babayara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Miners have won one, drawn one and lost one after three matches.

Quartey was appointed in September and has been in charge for only two months.

AshantiGold are set to re-appoint former assistant coach Thomas Duah to lead the club temporarily before a substantive head coach will be appointed.

The Miners will take on Hearts of Oak next Sunday at the Len Clay Stadium in a matchday four fixture.
