Ashantigold have revealed their engagement with the Ghana Football Association to reclaim their footballing status.
The former Ghana Premier League champions were suspended by the Ghana FA last year during the 29th Ordinary Session held in Kumasi.
At the Congress, 67 members voted in favour of the continuous suspension of the Obuasi-based club, with 17 voting against it.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) suspended Ashantigold with immediate effect under Article 17(1) of the GFA Statutes due to their involvement with banned officials, namely Kwaku Frimpong and Emmanuel Frimpong over a violation of GFA and FIFA statutes.
The duo were banned by the GFA for their involvement in sports betting and alleged match manipulation, resulting to the demotion of the club to Division Two.
In a statement released by the club, they expressed ongoing communication with the GFA, seeking assistance in reclaiming their footballing status.
"For the past few months, we are in constant communication with the GFA to assist us in the pursuit to regain our footballing status. We therefore entreat all our loyal supporters to be patient and optimistic about our comeback to competitiveness in the 2024/25 season," the statement read.
