AshantiGold SC chairman Emmanuel Frimpong claims the club is ready to play in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The Miners were chosen to represent Ghana in next season's continental showpiece after the Ghana FA Executive Council on Tuesday decided to the cancel the 2019/2020 football season.

AshantiGold were participants in the second biggest club competition on the continent last season after winning the Tier 2 of the Special Competition organised by the Normalization Committee to book their ticket.

"We are eighty-five(85%) ready for Africa. When the league was suspended, there was a rumour of AshantiGold and Asante Kotoko going for Africa hence we started preparing and putting everything in place," he told Kumasi FM

"Our coach has been sending training schedules for the players at home. My players are very ready for anything."

"AshantiGold would have been at the top of the league but for the cancellation of the league."

The four-time Ghana Premier League winners were eliminated in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup last term by Moroccan side RS Berkane.
