AshantiGold tame Lions in Kpando to go second

AshantiGold moved to second place in the Ghana Premier League after a rare 1-0 win at Heart of Lions on Sunday.

In-form striker Yakubu Mohammed underlined his predatory instincts by stunning the home fans with a classy strike on the 78th minute mark.

Lions always looked the more likely side to score but their attack lacked the cutting edge.

Former Ghana U17 attacker Aaron Amoah was deadly on the wings and let the hosts defence lived dangerously.

AshantiGold are now one point behind leaders Medeama who were shocked 1-0 at home by defending champions Asante Kotoko
