AshGold CEO Fianoo debunks player exodus rumours

AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has dismissed reports that the club will lose big-names during this transfer window.

Eight players are rumoured to be the heading for the exit door after they rejected contract extensions.

The list includes strikers Alex Asamoah, Nana Poku and Samad Oppong.

The club's top scorer for last season Yakubu Mohammed has been strongly linked with to Hearts of Oak or a move abroad.

Captain Daniel Asamoah could be on his way out after close to seven seasons at the club.

But the CEO of the Obuasi-based club says these rumours are untrue.

"There is no truth in it," Fianoo told GHANAsoccernet.com "The coach is even yet to present his technical report so how can players be put on transfer?"

AshantiGold are still seething following their 1-0 defeat to Edubiase in the MTN FA Cup final last Sunday.
