In a period that many referees are vilified in the Ghana Premier League for dubious and astonishing decisions, Referee Charles Bulu and his assistants have been hailed by AshGold interim coach Yakubu Mambo for their high sense of professionalism and superb officiating despite losing 3-0 to league leaders WAFA.

AshGold could not hold their back together with 30 minutes to end the game, conceding three unanswered goals in a disappointing fashion.

Despite their shameful show at the Red Bull Arena, Yakubu Mambo believes officiating was top class.

Charles Bulu who was nearly banned last season his 'pathetic and reprehensible' performance during New Edubiase's 2-1 win over Kotoko last season in a shambolic episode which has brought officiating under tight scrutiny seem to have learnt his lessons.

“Officiating was superb. This is the best officiating I have ever witnessed in my career. The referee was excellent in the game and I think he deserves to be commended,” he told the press after the game.

Bulu and his assistants David Adjin and R.N. Dodoo were not only hailed by the visiting side whose were defeated but were also applauded by the officials of the home side and the fans.

“Officiating was excellent and we have nothing to say about that,” WAFA coach Klaus Rasmussen noted.

With calls that many referees should be taken out of the system due to the fact that they are out of steam to give out their best, Bulu is one of the few who has been hailed by a number of club officials.
