AshGold wins case against Sfaxien, to receive €750,000

An agreement has finally been reached to see CS Sfaxien pay a sum of €750,000 to AshantiGold for the transfer of Opoku Agyemang.

The 22-year-old striker was sold to the Tunisian club in 2007 where he was later transferred to Saudi side Al-Sadd.

The Obuasi-based club then demanded their share of the onward transfer fee which Sfaxien have since contested on the grounds Agyemang was a free transfer buy.

The dispute led to AshGold employing the services of renowned Fifa agent Eric Manasse who has now managed to get the ruling in favour of the Ghanaian topflight side.

“AshGold sold a player Opoku Agyemang to a team called Sfaxien and they also sold him on to Al-Sadd, a team in Saudi Arabia and they never paid AshGold,” Manasse said.

“So AshGold asked me to represent them at Fifa and after two years we were able to get the payment.

“We fought the case at the tribunal of sports and finally were able to conclude it yesterday. I have been at Sfaxien and they have agreed to pay.”

The money according to reliable sources will be paid in installments spread over the next four months.
