Asia’s best to take on USA and Brazil at Tournament of Nations

Kuala Lumpur: Asia’s two highest ranked women’s national teams, Japan and Australia, are set to meet FIFA Women’s World Cup holders USA and world number nine Brazil, at the Tournament of Nations in the United States.

The tournament, to be held from July 27 to August 3, brings together the world, Asian and South American champions, and will feature four of the top nine teams in FIFA’s global rankings playing in a round-robin format.

Japan and Australia’s involvement comes as the teams – ranked sixth and eighth respectively - prepare for the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Jordan.

The 19th edition of Asia’s women’s football showpiece will be the first to be held in West Asia, with the opening match scheduled for April 7 in Amman.
