Zurich: Japan, DPR Korea and Korea Republic learned their opponents for this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Thursday following the official draw for the tournament in Zurich.

Japan, who claimed last August’s AFC U-19 Women’s Championship title to book their ticket to the global extravaganza in Papua New Guinea, find themselves in a potentially tricky Group B alongside Spain, Canada and African powerhouse Nigeria.

DPR Korea, runners-up to Japan following a tense penalty shootout in the final of the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship are in Group A alongside host nation Papua New Guinea, Brazil and Sweden.

Meanwhile, Korea Republic – who claimed third spot at the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship – are in Group D where they will have Germany, Venezuela and Mexico for company.

The action is set to start on November 13 when Papua New Guinea will take on Brazil.
