Avram Grant could miss Ghana job over political sanctions against Israel - report
Avram Grant in the running to become next head coach of the Black Stars

Avram Grant might not get the Ghana job over a political concern linked to his nationality as an Israeli, according to the local media.

The 59-year-old is widely regarded as the front runner for the vacant Black Stars job following his impressive display before the Ghana FA’s interview panel almost a fortnight ago.

But Grant could be disqualified from the race over fears he might not be able to travel to certain countries who hold traveling sanctions against Israel.

The ex Chelsea boss carries an Israeli passport which according to reports is not tolerated by some countries – especially in the Arab world.

The traveling sanctions on Israel has to do with the undying war against Palestine.

Some countries have decided to bar Israelites from traveling into their territories in solidarity with Palestine.

This, according to Accra-based radio station, Asempa FM could rule Grant out since the Black Stars might be playing in such countries and cannot afford to be without their coach in the event the former Chelsea boss gets the job.

According to the radio station, the GFA is doing background checks on the 59-year-old to see if he is in the clear from this far stretching sanction before he is appointed as the substantive replacement for Kwesi Appiah.

The Ghana FA interviewed three out of the five shortlisted applicants for the job almost a fortnight ago and are believed to be close to naming their choice after deliberations at the Executive Committee level.

This is bull... FIFA has its own rules and regulations n any member country that flaunt its rules ll be exluded from it unless that country is not a member of FIFA! Grant can travel with Ghana to any FIFA member country even if he is not politically allow to and any attempt by that country who is a member of FIFA to block him ll led FIFA to sanction them according to its rules which is no GOVERNMENTAL INTERFERENCE in association football!! FIFA non governmental interference doesn't only cover local or sovereign nations but as well as intercontinental federations as well!! Sometimes, we Ghanaians can make an ass of ourselves! There is no FIFA member state that had its own rules apart from what FIFA has for all and this issue is ridiculous to say the least! We should making a fool of ourselves!!

If we have people like selfmade and ghanaman living in this country, why won't we have a problem. All these ass holes calling themselves Ghanaians. Even when he Avram Grant was at Chelsea he had problems with his travellings because he was a Jewish. And even Chelsea were concern about there support base in some countries. It's one concern that nations look at when appointing or contracting Jewishs. Fools like you who think everything is insult wouldn't know this. For when you are in a car, all that you think about is the movement of the car but not how the car is able to run. Fools

Again, even if some Arab countries has blacklisted Jews or Israeli citizens from entering their countries, that doesn't means that all arab countries has done that! In fact, a very few of arabian nations has done that and Saudis are a typical example! I have taken my time to do this research on how many Arab countries allowed Israeli into their countries and it seems almost all of them with the exception of a few and is not everyday that Ghana plays friendlies with these few countries that has put restrictions on Jews! Yet again, Egypt and jordan, who are also Arab nations allows Jews or israelites into their countries and there are a lot of moslem countries that allow Jews to their country without any restrictions whatsoever!! Ghanaians, sometimes can make a fool of ourselves and the main reasons why Israel has opted for the uefa qualification instead of the Asian qualification boils down to internal security and nothing else! They scared of terrorists entering their country disguise as footballers and spy on them!! Grant, can travel with Ghana to any country for association football and nothing ll happen as long as that football nation is a member of fifa! Finally, why did the Thais hired him as a technical director if he wasn't allowed to travel to some countries knowing very well that, the technical director has to be with the team in all major competitions as well as friendlies? Am suspecting, some section of the Ghanaian media has been paid to put forward this ridiculous claims to taint the coach so that their favorite ll land the post! Paintsil case was an exclusive one as the Arab nations were pissed off with him when he SHOW THE ISRAELI FLAG during our match against Czech and they wanted to punish him for his foolishness!! The WC was the least place, the Arab nations expected to see the DAVID FLAG and they were really mad! With football issues, IMMUNITY IS VERY IMPORTANT AND FIFA DOESNT PLAY WITH THAT BULL!

Alhaji Mate, first of all, I didn't insult anyone so why are u insulting me then?? I ll forgive u and debate with u then!! Firstly, the claim that u cannot travel to any Arab country if u have an Israeli stamp in your passport is a BIG MYTH and more so the fact that u cannot go to certain countries if u are an Israeli is also a figment of someone imaginations! Listen, I have an Israeli stamp in my Ghanaian passport and i have been to Iran, Jordan, Egypt and even Afghanistan! In fact, I have been to these countries before and still was able to enter Israel but there was more probing questions for me and the question is this, is quite different from the probing questions when enteringthe the USA or Britain! Nope! Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Syria etc allows jews to enter their countries just as most of these Arab countries and u can do your research on this without anyone misinforming u dude! A very few of Arab countries has blacklisted Jews and that few are even irrelevant in football ! Saudia Arabia,Palestine has blacklisted Jews but still grant can enter by getting a second passport for all Arab and moslem countries and this is the standard now in Israel! Go do your research and come apologize to me!
