Ayew to give his all

Despite the climate of suspicion surrounding tonight’s OM-Montpellier clash, there is no question for André Ayew about giving his best.

Didier Deschamps’s men, who are now out of the running for a European position in the Championship, will oppose Lyon on Saturday at the Stade de France in the League Cup final, OM’s last chance for a trophy this season.

The men are physically and morally worn out after their double clashes with Bayern Munich and their defeat at the Parc des Princes, so the question on many pundits’ lips is, are Marseille going to give their all just three days before this crucial encounter?

This even more so, given that a group of Marseille supporters called on their team to sacrifice themselves in order to assist Montpellier in their race for the title against Marseille’s sworn enemy, PSG.

But for André Ayew, OM will fight for the three points at the Vélodrome on Wednesday evening.

“I understand that the supporters don’t want PSG to be champion.  As a Marseillais, I wouldn’t be terribly happy if PSG was champion.  But we will remain professionnel.  What’s important to us when we’re on the pitch, is to do everything we can to win,” stated the international Ghanaian.

Loïc Rémy and César Azpilicueta have been withdrawn for the clash, but Coach Didier Deschamps preferred not to leave a shadow of a doubt about his team’s upcoming performance.

"If Montpellier win, it will be because they earned it.”

Whatever the case, Paris Saint-Germain will certainly have their eye on the outcome of this important match.
