Dutch club AZ Alkmaar have entered the race to sign Ghana striker Matthew Amoah, his agent has revealed.

The 30-year is likely to leave Dutch side NAC Breda because of the huge financial problems at the club.

Several clubs have expressed interest in signing Amoah but have been able to meet the financial demands of NAC.

The 30-year-old, who is one of the club’s highest paid players, could leave to reduce the club's wage structure.

His agent Ploegsma Kees says AZ Alkmaar are among the clubs keen on the Ghanaian attacker.

"We have heard of AZ Alkmaar's interest and in the coming days we will see what will happen."

Amoah has a contract with NAC until 2013 and he is now in his fourth season.

NAC are on the brink of administration after huge financial problems as club owners have struggled to pay players this season.

Amoah started his career in Holland in 1998 when he signed for Fortuna Sittard.

He had a short but unsuccessful spell in Germany with giants Borussia Dortmund.
