Berekum Chelsea midfielder Gladson Awako on Thursday clashed with head coach Hans Van der Plyum by verbally abusing the Dutchman in protest of the lack of playing time.

Awako exploded and used foul language on the experienced coach after he was unused in the team's friendly against Ghana Under-20 at the Tema Park on Thursday.

He was blocked by his teammates from packing home after the match had ended and accused the coach wanting to destroy his career.

The Ghanaian champions are fining tune preparations for their CAF Champions League debut against Liberian side LISCR on Saturday.

It is unknown if he will make the squad for the trip.

"He insulted me because he wasn't happy that I was not giving him playing time and a decision will be taken on him soon," Plyum told Accra-based Oman FM

"It's an internal matters and I'm sure we will find a way to deal with it.

"There are lots of players and each one must be patient and I must admit that he abused me verbally but the focus is on our game this weekend."

The former Ghana Under-20 star joined the Premier League champions in June last year but has had limited game time.

Awako worked under the Van der Plyum at Heart of Lions but sources say the 21-year-old has fallen out with the trainer.
