Ghana Premier League campaigners BA Stars have threatened to pull out of the competition on Monday, citing unfair officiating and intimidation.

The Brong Ahafo based club claim they will make a public announcement on their withdrawal at a press conference on Monday.

This comes in the wake of their defeat 3-1 defeat at the hands Kessben FC on Sunday claiming they were intimidated by thugs hired by the home side.

BA Stars also claimed they scored two goals which were disallowed by the referee Rockson Biney.

Club spokesman Felix Obeng Fosu says they are fed up with the alleged unfairness in the game, outlining matches they claimed they were cheated.

“We are withdrawing from the Ghana Premier League and we will make a public announcement on Monday at a press conference,” Fosu said.

“We want to leave the league so the authorities can be satisfied with playing in a 15-team league. We are fed up with the cheating.

“The way the matches are running with unfairness directed at us it is a complete waste of time and money for our team owner. We are no longer interested in the league.”

BA Stars are 11th on the league table with nine points with a disputed game still outstanding.

They will be demoted to the second division if they go ahead with their withdrawal  while officials of the club will be banned from football if they refuse to play in the second division.

They must also refund the sponsorship money they have taken from the Ghana FA while players they have registered will demand the upfront payment of the remaining years on their contracts.

The players will also be allowed to move as free agents if the team is disbanded.
