BA United temporarily banned from Coronation Park

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has ordered a temporary ban on BA United FC from using the Sunyani Coronation Park as their home venue with immediate effective.

This decision has become necessary due to the unfortunate incident that occurred during Match Day 19 game between BA United and Berekum Arsenals played on Sunday, 10th July, 2016.

Supporters of the home side allegedly attacked officials of the opposing team during the game which was played at the Coronation Park.

The decision is in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations, which states that, “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed.”

The Division One League Board will determine the venue for BA United’s upcoming home matches in accordance with Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations.

This order is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee.

Meanwhile, the Disciplinary Committee has been charged to hear the case in accordance with the GFA Regulations.
