Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman has declared himself available for the U20 World Cup in Turkey.
The Greuther Furth left-back was not called up into the Black Satellites squad that finished second at the 2013 African Youth Championships in Algeria.
This was due to his clubââ¬â¢s unwillingness to release the player for the African championships which is not covered by the FIFA regulations on releasing players for national assignments.
But the 18-year-old says he is very much prepared to play for Ghana at the U20 World Cup in June as one of the foreigbn-based prospects to be invited for the tournament to be staged in Turkey.
ââ¬ÅI will be very much willing to play for my country at the U20 World Cup if I am invited,â⬠he told MTNFootball.com.
ââ¬ÅI am not too sure about the rules regarding the release of players for World Cups, no matter the stage.
ââ¬ÅBut I am ready to play for Ghana at the World Cup.ââ¬
The ex Asante Kotoko full-back also adds the timing of the tournament will be very favourable to his decision to play at the tournament even if his club opposes.
ââ¬ÅThe tournament is also start in June,â⬠he adds.
ââ¬ÅBy this time the season in Germany would have ended and we the players on holidays so I think the time is also good.ââ¬
The Black Satellites are drawn in a group of death at the World Cup which includes; Spain, France and the USA.
Ghana will open its Group A campaign against European Cup runnerââ¬â¢s up; France before facing champions Spain and USA in subsequent games.
