Ex Ghana striker Baffour Gyan has shaved off his dreadlocks in memory of his departed mother.

The 32-year-old has been wearing the dread for well over a decade but decided to let it go for the burial of his deceased mother this weekend.

Madam Cecelia Love Amoako, mother of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan died last November in a car crash in Accra before her 61st birthday.

She will be buried in her hometown of Mamponteng on Saturday.

Madam Amoako is succeeded by a husband and four children - two of whom played at international level or the Black Stars.
