Balotelli skips Brescia traning as striker tries to force a move

Published on: 26 May 2020

There are growing reports of a total breakdown in communication between Mario Balotelli and Brescia after he skipped training. ‘No comment.’

The striker had shrugged off rumours of problems last week and then began training, but only by himself with secondary members of the staff, in areas usually reserved for youth team players.

Coach Diego Lopez and the rest of the squad continued to train on the regular pitches.

This carried on for a couple of days, but today Balotelli was nowhere to be seen.

When La Gazzetta dello Sport contacted Brescia to ask for clarification, the only response was: “No comment.”

Balotelli will turn 30 in August and is under contract until June 2022, but it’s increasingly likely he will leave his hometown club after just one season.

He scored five goals in 19 Serie A appearances for Brescia, who are bottom of the table with 16 points from 26 rounds.
