Barca lads agreeing to cut 70% salaries 'will help save around €32m per month'

Barcelona's players agreeing to cut their salaries by 70 percent will help the club save around 32 million euros per month.

The move will allow the club to cut a lot of their economic losses during the coronavirus crisis and much of this will come from the captains.

Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto themselves will save the club around 8.6m euros a month, with the Argentine's cuts alone saving 5m euros.

It shouldn't be forgotten, either, that Messi recently donated 1m euros to two hospitals.

Pique and Busquets will save the club almost 1.5m euros each while Sergi Roberto accounts for a monthly saving of around 700,000 euros.

Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann, despite not being captains, also have their cuts contribute a considerable amount.

The Frenchman will cease to receive around 2.1m a month, while the savings associated with Suarez are on the level of Pique and Busquets.
