Barcelona loanee to end Inter stay in favour of La Liga return

Published on: 30 January 2016

Inter defender Martin Montoya, who has been on loan at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza from Barcelona, is set to end his stay in Italy to join La Liga side Real Betis.

Since arriving at the San Siro in the summer, Montoya has featured on just three occasions for the Biscione, with his first appearance for the club coming against Udinese in mid-December.

As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, the Spaniard passed his medical at the Andalusian side on Saturday morning, and will look to complete the move before the end of the week.

In their first season back in Spain’s top flight, Betis find themselves in 14th place in the table, having collected 22 points from their 22 games to date.

Before making his ill-fated move to Serie A, Montoya played 67 times for the Blaugrana.
