Barcelona prepare new bid for Inter striker

Published on: 14 July 2020

Barcelona haven’t given up in their attempt to land Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, with reports out of Spain suggesting their latest offer is €70 million plus Junior Firpo.

The Argentine’s release clause of €111m has expired but nonetheless, the Blaugrana remain confident they can strike a deal given his willingness to play alongside compatriot Lionel Messi.

As a result Mundo Deportivo reports Barcelona’s latest offer is €70m plus Junior Firpo, who is valued at €41m.

The Dominican only joined the Catalan side from Real Betis in the summer of 2019 for €18m plus €12m in bonuses, with the report stating he would be more than happy to join the Nerazzurri.

It remains to be seen whether the Italian club themselves would agree to those terms as they have remained steadfast in their belief that they want a higher cash figure to let the Argentine striker go.

So far this season Lautaro has 18 goals in 39 appearances for Inter, the latest of which came in a 3-1 victory over Torino on Monday night.
