Barcelona to argue that Setien didn't follow through on his promises

Barcelona and Quique Setien are set to go to court in order to discuss the settlement the coach is believed to be due after his dismissal last summer.

The club will question the coach's ability and attitude and will claim that he failed to meet the expectations set upon his appointment.

El Larguero have reported that Setien failed to act on the promises he made regarding playing style and use of academy players, which were two factors that led to his sacking.

The same source has also said that Setien's leadership is also in question, with there being a belief that assistant Eder Sarabia took charge during games. The assistant and other coaches have already reached an agreement with the club.

Barcelona are also pointing out that Setien took charge at the Camp Nou with Barcelona topping the LaLiga Santander table, only to fail to win the title. He also fell in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals and was humiliated in the Champions League by losing 8-2 to Bayern Munich.

The club highlight that the coach, on more than one occasion, lost the support of the dressing room, who publicly complained.
