Basake Holy Stars coach Abdulai Gazale has lamented over the performance of referee Rustum Gameli Senorgbe following defeat against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League matchday 25 encounter.
The Premier League debutant succumbed to a narrow defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Samuel Tenedu’s deflected strike in the 14th minute proved to be the difference, securing Kotoko their third consecutive win and extending their unbeaten run to four matches.
Speaking after the game, Gazale, a former assistant coach of Kotoko expressed displeasure about officiating.
“Sometimes when you are playing this kind of league especially in the second round, you see so many things happen. I don’t talk about officiating officials but here, I will talk about it because I know what has gone into this match. We know what Kotoko did in the first leg but they did not succeed but here, they have succeeded. Just look at the free-kicks awarded against us, it’s unfortunate” he said.
Basake Holy Stars must regroup quickly as they battle to avoid the drop. They are currently 14th on the Premier League table with 24 points.
