Experienced coach Bashir Hayford wants the Ghana Football Association to establish regional academies to improve standard of play.
The two-time Ghana Premier League winner believes camping budding talents and giving them the right dose of soccer tutorials is the way forward.
''Academy football is an advanced form of colts football. Most countries in the world and in Africa have moved from colts football to academy football,'' Hayford said on Ahomka 99.5 FM / Ocean 1 TV.
''Those who are supposed to train players at the colts are now establishing academies.
''I propose that, Ghana Football Association (GFA) should put in their maximum effort to establish academy in all the regions in Ghana to enhance the development of players and nurture talent.''
The former Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold coach has been linked with the vacant technical director job at the Ghana Football Association.
He recently returned home after a short stint as Somalia national team coach.
