Bayern fans waiving refunds for tickets as money will be donated to local clubs

FC Bayern, together with its supporters, are sending a further sign of solidarity in the coronavirus crisis via the club charity FC Bayern Hilfe eV.

Increasing numbers of supporters are waiving refunds for tickets previously purchased for matches in the Allianz Arena they no longer can attend due to matches now being played behind closed doors. They are instead making their ticket money available to the Hilfe eV charity.

The Hilfe eV board, headed by chairman Karl Hopfner, along with Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has decided to give this money to the Bayernliga Süd (South) and Nord (North) clubs. Each of the 35 Bavarian league clubs will receive 10,000 euros.

Karl Hopfner: "On behalf of FC Bayern Hilfe eV, I would like to thank our amazing fans once again. Our supporters from all around the ground, from the standing end to business seats to the owners of the executive boxes, are making use of the ticket refund waivers - it's a wonderful sign of solidarity.

"Football is an essential part of social life. At the clubs, children and youths learn fundamental values such as team spirit, respect and tolerance. It is very important to us that, together with our fans, we can use these funds to help stabilise the football landscape in Bavaria in these difficult times during the pandemic."

Last week, FC Bayern Hilfe eV used ticket refund waivers to donate €20,000 to each club in the Bayern Regionalliga and €100,000 to the Bavarian State Sports Association, BLSV.
