Bayern Munich have advised their players to not make themselves available for autographs or selfies as German football braces for the coronavirus.

Five fixtures have been called off in Italy including the top of the table clash between Juventus and Inter Milan due to fears over the virus.

But in Germany, all Bundesliga fixtures will go ahead despite the first confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country.

However, Bundesliga clubs are bracing for the epidemic virus and Bayern have announced they imposed a ban on autographs and selfies.

"Based on the recommendations of the [state-run] Robert Koch Institute and their extended implementation," a statement on the club website said.

"Prof. Dr. Roland Schmidt, the interneal head of FC Bayern's medical department, has advised that FC Bayern players refrain from signing autographs for the time being and also from being available for photos or selfies with fans."

Earlier, the German Football League made a general statement on the subject of coronavirus for the clubs of the two top German tiers.

They said they are closely monitoring the situation.

While German football has not been impacted yet, the ITB travel trade fair in Berlin was cancelled on Friday over coronavirus fears.
