Bayern Munich have confirmed that Benjamin Pavard will join on a five-year deal from Stuttgart at the end of the season.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed the news at the club's warm weather training camp in Qatar.

Pavard, 22, impressed as France won the World Cup last summer and scored in the 4-3 victory over Argentina in the round of 16.

But in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season he has been unable to help Stuttgart avoid a battle against relegation.

A defender who can operate at centre-back or right-back, Pavard joined Stuttgart from Lille in 2016 and was under contract until 2021.
