The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bechem United football club, Professor Nana Kwesi Darlington has urged the Ghana FA to extend some support to the Ghanaian clubs when they receive the $500,000 stimulus package from FIFA.

The Ghana FA is set to receive $500,000 as stimulus package from the world governing body due to the coronavirus pandemic. The amount represents the operational funding for member associations for the years 2019 and 2020.

In all, FIFA will distribute $150 million among its 211 member associations.

According to the Bechem CEO, this is the time the Ghana FA must help and support the clubs as the coronavirus pandemic has plunged the clubs into financial difficulties due to the suspension of the league.

" The FA President and his Executive Council members must demonstrate to we the clubs that they really think about us by extending financial support in this difficult times", he told Angel FM.

"I will advice them to use part of the Fifa stimulus package to support clubs in the country in this period of Covid-19", he added.

Meanwhile, the Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has disclosed to the media that the financial aid from FIFA is for operational costs of the FA and not meant for clubs.
