Bechem United have petitioned the Ghana Football Association over the appointment of Referee Reginald Lathbridge for Thursday’s Premier League match against Aduana.

The Hawks are asking the Referee Appointment Committee and the Premier League Board to change the match referee in the interest of Fair Play.

A letter read: “Referee Reginald Lathbridge has a history of bias against Bechem United and we do not believe in his ability to officiate the match fairly

“His appointment is inappropriate for this occasion because of the perceived lack of integrity in his official duties in the eyes of our supporters.

“Throughout our fixture history with Aduana and other teams, referee Lathbridge has always caused outrage, fear and panic due to bias officiating.

‘‘It happened in our Division One bids to the Premier League against Aduana and our matches in the Premier League so we are certain he will remain bias against us, in violation of FIFA’s Fair Play rules.”
