Bechem United survive Lions scare to scrap narrow win

Bechem United recovered from an early setback to beat Heart of Lions 3-2 at the Gyeabbour Park in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday afternoon to boost their revival.

The home side were stunned by an 8th minute masterclass finish from former Ghana striker Sam Yeboah - the 28-year-old comfortably manuoevred his way through the Bechem defence and rounded up the keeper to delightfully finish off.

Bechem refused to be pinned down as they took over the midfield and created scores of chances but they failed to convert until Toufiq Ayila breached the visitors defence to pull even for Bechem.

Bechem created more chances but failed to take the lead until the 39th minute when Ayila scored what was a replica of Sam Yeboah's opener.

Ayila scrolled smoothly through from the right, made lightworks of three defenders and added the Mozart Adjetey who was later replaced by Stephen Ahorlu, to his victims to score put Bechem in front.

In the 15th minute of the second-half, Patrick Opoku increased the margin for Bechem by adding the third but Lions reduced the deficit 11 minutes from time.
