Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged the Black Satellites to believe in their abilities and trust their coaches as they prepare for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Speaking to the team before their departure, Addo expressed confidence in the squad’s potential to succeed at the tournament, which runs from April 27 to May 18, 2025.
Ghana, four-time champions of the competition, have been drawn in Group C alongside Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.
“Everybody's looking up to you to give everything. I know that you have what it takes to beat every team,” Addo told the players, encouraging them to maintain self-belief and discipline.
“You have a good staff around you, a good coach. So, anything is possible. You have to believe in yourself. We'll pray for you, and I know you'll do it.”
He also acknowledged the challenging path ahead but stressed that determination and teamwork would be key.
"“I know it's going to be tough. Everyone knows it's not easy.
"You have tough opponents, but believe in yourself, listen to your coaches, and then you'll fulfill everything.”
Ghana are aiming to win their fifth U20 AFCON title, having last lifted the trophy in 2021.
