Former Tottenham and QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt is facing the axe at Benfica.
Taarabt left QPR for Benfica last summer, but has struggled with his weight since arriving in Lisbon.
A Bola says Benfica management are unconvinced by Taarabt's long-term prospects and plan to dump him when the market reopens in January.
The midfielder has offers from the Middle East and Benfica officials believe a move to Asia will be his most likely next destination.
Taarabt, now 26, had six months on-loan with AC Milan last season while still on the books at QPR.
