Berekum Arsenal captain Akwasi Acheampong wants out

Berekum Arsenal captain Akwasi Acheampong says he is ready to quit the club after receiving offers from top Ghana Premier League sides.

The 24 year old defender believes he has paid his dues for the Berekum-based side and it is time to start a new life elsewhere.

Acheampong told Sunyani-based Storm FM: "Well I think it is every footballers' ambition to always look for new challenges and this is the time for me to start face a new challenge.

"I sometimes played through pain in all the 30 matches in the just ended season with just one yellow card as a defender all because of the love I have for the club.

"But the conditions are not too favourable for a footballer like me who would always die for my team.

"I have had offers from three premiership sides and I want to state on record that I won't be with Berekum Arsenals next season if things go the way I expect them to be."

Acheampong has been invited to join the home-based Ghana national team.
