Berekum Arsenal set to appoint Yusif Abubakar as head coach

Yusif Abubakar is expected to be appointed Berekum Arsenal head coach by the close of the week.

Abubakar led Wassaman FC for the second half of last season but could not save them from relegation.

He has since returned to Medeama Sporting Club as an assistant coach.

Arsenal had a turbulent campaign last term and had to survive demotion on the final day of the league.

"At the moment we have been in contact with two competent coaches but I can confidently say that our discussions with Yusif Abubakar have been very positive," Arsneal's General Secretary Douglas Effah told MTNFootball.com

"Hopefully by the close of the week we would name a new coach and it can be him (Abubakar)."

"He (Abubakar) has been in Berekum before and he knows the terrain very well so that would be an added advantage to him and the club as well," he added.
