Emmanuel Clottey has apologized for his excessive and disrespectful goal celebration against Asante Kotoko after snatching a last-gasp leveler in Sunday's 1-1 draw at the Golden City Park.

The ex-Ghana international striker climbed off the bench in the second half to drill in a ferocious free-kick at the edge of the box for the deserved equalizer.

It was the last kick of the match.

There was pent up joy for the former Ghana Premier League goal king who hastily removed his shirt, run up to the far side and dumped it in the Kotoko technical area.

"I was really happy for scoring against Kotoko. I was overjoyed and unfortunately I pulled my shirt. I didn't intend to disrespect Kotoko by throwing my shirt at the Kotoko technical area. I really apologize if Kotoko team and fans are offended. Really sorry," he told Ark FM.

Clottey has returned to the former champions for a second stint.
