Berekum Chelsea midfielder Michael Quaicoo was disappointed at their 2-1 defeat to AshantiGold SC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Bibires threw away an early lead to lose 2-1 to the Obuasi based at the Len Clay Stadium.

Chelsea went ahead in the 9th minute through Augustine Henneh before Appiah McCarthy drew the home side level in the 22nd minute with a brilliant free-kick.

Hans Kwofie scored the match winning goal five minutes to halftime to hand all maximum points to AshantiGold.

"Yes. We are very much disappointed with the scoreline because our position on the league table is not good at all," he told reporters.

Chelsea are currently lying 15th on the log standings with only one win from seven matches.

"We are very disappointed with this game because we could have won."

"We took the lead in the early stages which we should have maintained and press them on but due to some circumstances we couldn't hold on the advantage."

However, Quaicoo is optimistic of a win in their next premiership fixture.

"We will try as much as possible and win our next game."

They take on Inter Allies FC at the Golden City park in Berekum next weekend in match day eight.
