Berekum Chelsea must stump up US$ 4,000 to clear goods to be used for the Group stage of the 2012 CAF Champions League which begins next month.
The equipment, sent by CAF, includes training bibs for the players, bibs for the media and jerseys for the ball boys as well as two captain's armbands.
But the club have complained about the cost involved and are negotiating for a rebate.
''CAF sent the invoice for clearance to the GFA, who in turn sent it through to us,'' the club's director of operations Oduro Sarfo told footyghana.com
"The cost of clearing the goods is 8,000 Ghana cedis (US$ 4000), which we believe is on the high side.
''So we are at the moment negotiating with the clearing agents so that the bill will be reduced a bit for us to clear the goods."
Chelsea begin their campaign at home against Egyptian giants Zamalek on July 8 at the Golden City Park in Berekum.
