Ghana Premier League leaders Berekum Chelsea will on Friday cut the sod for the construction of their own stadium.
The edifice will be cited at Benkaza on the outskirts of Berekum.
Phase I will see the construction of a playing field, a VIP stand, an inner perimeter and one stand.
"This is part of our short term plans and we hope to execute it time. The project will be in phases and we want to meet international standards," Club president Emmanuel Kyeremeh told www.berekumchelsea.com
"Our future plan is to also construct a tartan track which will help athletics in the region as well.
"We pray everything goes our way and we live to see this become a success."
The project is earmarked for completion in January 2012.
