Captain Abdul Basit scored twice as Berekum Chelsea  beat  Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a highly temperamental game on Thursday.

The outstanding Premier League game at the Golden City was marred by near brawl as players and officials of Hearts charged on the match officials for awarding what they described as a ‘dubious’ goal.

Basit, perceived to be in an offside position tapped in from close range with two minutes left on the clock to grab a brace in the game.

But players of the capital-based team were incensed with the decision to allow the goal to stand and protested heavily.

It took the timely intervention of the security apparatus detailed at the venue to forestall any untold story as referee Musah Plato and his assistant searched for cover.

Hearts midfielder Isaac Ofori scored the side opener before Chelsea pulled even with a 43rd  minute penalty expertly taken by captain Basit.

Hearts were reduced to ten men after defender Attakorah Gyiman was sent off .

The dethroned Ghanaian Champions have jumped to fifth on the League table with two games to spare.
