Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Kumordzi has expressed delight in scoring his first goal of the season for KV Kortrijk in the Belgian Pro League.

The midfielder opened his goalscoring account for KV Kortrijk as they thrashed Waasland-Beveren 6-2 on Saturday.

"1st goal of the season. I’m blessed. Thank God. Thank all my team mates at KV kortrijk," he posted on Instagram.

The versatile Ghanaian enforcer fetched the opener for the Red and White lads on the 22nd minute mark following a superb lofty corner kick from Petar Golubovic.

French midfielder Elohim Rolland doubled the advantage of the visitors in the 26th minute after connecting beautifully to Aboubakary Koita's through ball.

Waasland-Beveren were given a glimmer of hope, thanks Floriano Vanzo's 51st minute goal, but they soon found their backs against the wall as Koita scored Kortrijk's third goal of the day just eight minutes later after Francesco Forte had missed from 12 yards.

Goals from Jovan Stojanovic and Julien De Sart in the 67th and 74th minute respectively made it 5-1 for Kortrijk before Stefan Milosevic pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 76th minute.

Teddy Chevalier put the game to sleep for the visitors on the 80th minute mark.

Kumordzi once again enjoyed full throttle for the victors while crocked Nana Opoku Ampomah's absence was greatly felt by Waasland-Beveren.

Kumordzi has featured 7 times for the side as they occupy 9th on the table with 37 points after 27 games.
