Ghana striker Bernard Tekpetey has expressed his excitement after netting a debut goal for Fortuna Düsseldorf in their 6-0 victory over German lower-tier side Siegen in a pre-season friendly game.

The pacy forward joined the Red and Whites on a two-year deal last week after excelling on his debut campaign at newly promoted Bundesliga side SC Paderborn 07.

The 21-year old played a key role in the club’s top-flight promotion, scoring 10 goals in 32 appearances.

Tekpetey exhibited his quality on his debut as he netted the side’s third goal in the 31st minute after Oliver Finke and Rouwen Hennings has given them the lead in the 15 and 27th minutes respectively.

Second half goals from Havard Nielsen, Niko Gießelmann and Timo Bornemann ensured the Bundesliga side win the game 6-0.

"That was a very nice debut for me," said debutant and scorer Bernard Tekpetey.

"The team makes it very easy for me. It was a great feeling to run into the Fortuna jersey and score a goal right away. I'm looking forward to the other tasks, because I am only just at the beginning.”
