Bernard Tekpetey: Ghana forward now the second most valuable player in the Bulgarian top-flight

Published on: 08 September 2022

Ghana and Ludogorets Razgrad forward Bernard Tekpetey is the second most valuable player in the  Bulgarian Parva Liga.

The 25-year-old has seen his market value skyrocket from 500,000 to 3 million euros.

The Ghana international has taken another step in terms of goal threat this season, having been directly involved in six goals in seven matches.

He has scored five goals and provided one assist so far including goals in the Champions League and the Europa League qualifying rounds.

The former Schalke forward is behind Kiril Despodov (3.5m).

The leading duo are followed by midfielder Ivaylo Chochev (2 million euros) and goalkeeper Daniel Naumov (1.5 million euros).

Tekpetey insists he's unperturbed after being snubbed by Ghana coach Otto Addo for an international friendly matches against South American giants Brazil and Central American nation Nicaragua this month.

The Ghanaian is having a fantastic season with Ludogorets, but he was left out of Otto Addo's squad of 29 for this month's friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.

The 25-year-old has six goals in all competitions. No Ghanaian striker has scored more, but his name is not on the squad, a shocking decision that should have left Tekpetey disappointed, but he is not; instead, he believes he will be called at the right time.
